About thecredit
What we build
thecredit is self-service credit repair software. It reads your credit reports, flags items that look inaccurate or unverifiable, drafts dispute letters grounded in the Fair Credit Reporting Act, mails them first-class with delivery tracking, and tracks every response. The mountain-climbing language you'll see everywhere — your score is your altitude, disputes are switchbacks — is how we think about the work: a long climb, made shorter with a good map.
Why self-service matters
The credit-repair industry earned its reputation the hard way: advance fees, promised deletions, and telemarketing — practices that left the industry's largest player effectively dismantled after a federal enforcement action. We built the opposite. thecredit is software you operate: flat subscription, no charges tied to outcomes, no promises about results, and every dispute reviewed and authorized by you before it's sent. Disputing errors on your credit report is your legal right, and it's free to do yourself — our job is only to make it faster, more thorough, and easier to track.
AI with human hands on the rope
Our AI drafts letters and analyzes reports, but it never acts alone: you approve every dispute, and the letter templates and legal citations it draws on are maintained and reviewed by people. The same standard applies to our educational guides — each one cites primary sources (the FCRA itself, the CFPB, the FTC) and carries a visible last-reviewed date. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it: support@thecredit.ai.
